Where is your favorite place on campus?

I think it would have to be Quad during the spring and summer — particularly because it really highlights how nice and beautiful campus can be. And I like seeing it filled with students, because I think that’s what Quad is meant to do. To just have a public space for students to just hang out, study, get some sunshine, and get outside. So, yeah, Quad would be my answer.

Tablet or paper?

Paper.

Name one thing you’ve brought to work from home.

Enough snacks to last me throughout the day.

What is the one thing you can’t live without?

I think my iPod, actually. I really enjoy having music with me at all times, just in case.

If you won airfare to anywhere in the world, where would you go?

I’d be interested in checking out Antarctica, to be honest. Just to see what it’s like. Don’t know how I’d get there otherwise.

You can invite anyone — alive or dead, real or fictional — to dinner. Who would it be?

Bill Nye. Yup. For sure. Just, Bill Nye.

If you could switch jobs with someone else on campus for a week, what would you do?

I’m going to go for it and say, President Turpin. Just to see what he’s up to. And see how intense the meetings [he attends] might be. Alternatively, [I’d like to be] the mini bus driver. Even though I don’t speak a lick of French, it could be really fun. I’d get to say “welcome” every now and then — that much [French] I have.

What does “uplifting the whole people” mean to you?

To me that means giving anybody at the university, whether they’re a student, staff, or community member, the skills and tools they need to succeed.

If you could solve any problem in the world, what would it be?

Printer jams. No more printer jams.
