UAlberta Congrats

This week, the University of Alberta is celebrating the recipients of the Canadian Society for Chemistry Awards, the outstanding communications team in the Faculty of Arts, and the Canadian Pharmacist of the year! So, congrats to the following:

• Robert Campbell, Professor, Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Science — awarded the Teva Canada Limited Biological and Medicinal Chemistry (BMC) Lectureship Award for distinguished contribution to the field of biological or medicinal chemistry

• Dennis Hall, Professor, Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Science — received the Alfred Bader Award for excellence in research in organic chemistry by a scientist who is currently carrying out research in Canada

• Glen Loppnow, Professor, Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Science — awarded the CIC award for Chemistry Education, for outstanding contribution to education at the post-secondary level in the field of chemistry and chemical engineering

• Michael Serpe, Associate Professor, Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Science — received the Fred Beamish Award for demonstrating research innovation in the field of analytical chemistry

• Yunjie Xu, Professor, Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Science — awarded the Clara Benson Award for distinguished contribution to Chemistry by a woman working in Canada

• Nesé Yuksel, Associate Professor, Division Chair, Practice Division, Faculty of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences — celebrated as the Canadian Pharmacists Association’s 2016 Canadian Pharmacist of the Year

• Faculty of Arts Communications Team — awarded an International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) Award of Excellence for their #1of50K campaign, as well as the Gold Hermes Creative Award for last year’s Report to the Community
