UAlberta Congrats

This week, the University of Alberta is celebrating the winners of an IT Innovation Award, a 2016 Faculty of Teaching Excellence Award, the Johnson MS Bike Tour and more! So, congrats to the following:

• Robert Brennan, Teaching and Learning Specialist, Augustana Campus — received the IT Innovation Award from the Canadian University Council of Chief Information Officers (CUCCIO) at the Canadian Higher Education Information Technology Conference awards gala

• Ronald Hopp, Professor Emeritus, Faculty of Law — received the Eileen Nash Memorial Award in recognition of services on a pro bono basis to the benefit of the community

• Sherif Mahmoud, Associate Professor, Faculty of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences — recipient of the 2016 Faculty Teaching Excellence Award from the Faculty of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences

• Philippe Pépin, Student, Campus Saint Jean — awarded a $1000 bursary from the Consortium National de Formation en Santé (CNFS) at the Annual General Meeting of the Association des Collèges et Universités de la Francophonie Canadienne (ACUFC)

• Tim Young, Administrative Staff, Faculty of Law — placed first in the Johnson MS Bike Tour (for the fifth year in a row) while raising $1755 for MS research

In addition, congratulations to the 139 U of A research projects that recently received more than $23.1 million in NSERC Discovery Grants. Well done!
