UAlberta Congrats

This week, the University of Alberta is celebrating a national championship in tennis, PARA Award winners, research awards, and more! So, congrats to the following:

• Samina Ali, Assistant Dean of Professionalism, Department of Pediatrics, Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry - won the Canadian Association of Emergency Physicians' Top Pediatric Research Award

• Cara Bablitz, Resident, Division of Palliative Care Medicine, Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry - received the Palliative Medicine Resident Research Award, given annually by the Canadian Society of Palliative Care Physicians for the best scholarly project by a resident

• Robin Fainsinger, Professor, Department of Oncology, Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry - received the Eduardo Bruera Award in Palliative Medicine, given annually by the Canadian Society of Palliative Care Physicians to a physician who demonstrates excellence in the field of Palliative Medicine as recognized by his or her peers

• Loretta Fiorillo, Divisional Director of Pediatric Dermatology, Department of Pediatrics, Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry - awarded the 2015-2016 PARA (Professional Association of Resident Physicians of Alberta) Well-Being Award

• Jillian Popel, Resident, Department of Pediatrics, Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry - presented with an Excellence Award as the NICU Resident of the Year by the Department of Child Health at the Grey Nuns Hospital

• Dylan Taylor, Clinical Professor, Department of Medicine, Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry - awarded the 2015-2016 PARA (Professional Association of Resident Physicians of Alberta) Clinical Teaching Award

• Golden Bears Tennis - won the 2016 Canadian University Tennis Championships in Montreal, QC

• Pandas Tennis - won the bronze medal at the Canadian University Tennis Championships in Montreal, QC
