Golden Bears Wrestling, Canada West Conference ChampionsThis week, the University of Alberta is celebrating conference championships and records in athletics, NSERC grant recipients, Top 30 under 30 students, and more! So, congrats to the following:

• Meg Casault, Pandas Volleyball - broke the Canada West conference kills record with her 1,255th career kill on Saturday night at the Saville Community Sports Centre

• Andreas Hamann, Professor and Associate Chair of the Graduate Program, Department of Renewable Resources, Faculty of Agricultural, Life & Environmental Sciences - leads a research team which received a National Sciences and Research Council of Canada (NSERC) grant to study the impact of climate change on trees in Alberta and British Columbia

• Miriam Isaac-Renton, Graduate Student, Department of Renewable Resources, Faculty of Agricultural, Life & Environmental Sciences - member of a research team which received an NSERC grant to study the impact of climate change on trees in Alberta and British Columbia

• Cerina Lee, Student, School of Public Health - named to the Alberta Council for Global Cooperation's 2017 Top 30 Under 30 list

• Sunny Mann, Student, Faculty of Law - placed third in the 2017 MacIntyre Western Canada Trial Cup Moot, advancing to the Sopinka Cup in Ottawa this March

• Damon Monroe, Student, School of Public Health - named to the Alberta Council for Global Cooperation's 2017 Top 30 Under 30 list

• David Montwe, Graduate Student, Department of Renewable Resources, Faculty of Agricultural, Life & Environmental Sciences - member of a research team which received an NSERC grant to study the impact of climate change on trees in Alberta and British Columbia

• Calvin Patterson, Student, Faculty of Law - placed third in the 2017 MacIntyre Western Canada Trial Cup Moot, advancing to the Sopinka Cup in Ottawa this March

• Marcus Peterson, Golden Bears Wrestling - named Canada West Male Wrestler of the Year at the conference championships

• ALES Range Team, led by instructor Barry Irving - won several top awards at a recent international competition on range management, including first place in the Plant Identification Test and third place in the Undergraduate Range Management Exam

• BLINC Lab - cracked the top 40 entries in the NSERC Science, Action! video contest, which runs until February 28Science, Action! video contest, which runs until February 28 (watch their video here!)

• Golden Bears Wrestling - won the 2017 Canada West Championship in Saskatoon
