Community Congrats! March 1, 2017

UAlberta Congrats

This week, the University of Alberta is celebrating athletics records and championships, a new radiation therapy training facility, a United Way award, and more! So, congrats to the following:


• Nick Kostiuk, Golden Bears Swimming - broke the U SPORTS championship record in 100m breaststroke with a time of 59.07

• Karsten Loepelmann, Faculty Lecturer, Department of Psychology, Faculty of Science - named Faculty of Science Instructor of the Month

• Nicole Soderberg, Pandas Track & Field - named Athlete of the Week

• Department of Oncology, Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry - officially opened a new radiation therapy training facility in the Cross Cancer Institute

• Pandas Track & Field - won their second-straight Canada West Championship, the fifth in program history

The University of Alberta also received an Education and Awareness Award of Distinction from the United Way (Alberta Capital Region) for the 2016 campaign - congratulations!
