Welcome to the New Members of the Board of Governors

Today, the University of Alberta welcomes the Government of Alberta’s appointment of six new members to the Board of Governors. Each of these new members brings valuable and diverse perspectives, experiences, and expertise.  We look forward to working with them to further the strategic goals and initiatives laid out in For the Public Good.

Please join us in congratulating the following six individuals on their appointments:

Dominique Grégoire, Vice-President Finance and Chief Financial Officer, Alberta Blue Cross Benefits Corporation
Lynne Paradis, Superintendent of Schools for Suzuki Public Charter School
Lynn Parish, Hearing Chair for the Alberta Appeals Commission for Worker’s Compensation
Zahra Somani, Partner/Owner of Pirani Group
Sheri Somerville, Executive Director, Citie Ballet
Owen Tobert, retired, former City Manager, City of Calgary

These new appointees will join the board immediately, filling vacancies left by Michael Ross, Bob Teskey, Steven LePoole, Nizar Somji, Shenaz Jeraj and James Heelan. We would like to thank Michael, Bob, Steven, Nizar, Shenaz, and James for their dedication and service to the University of Alberta. We have benefited greatly from their insight, guidance, and passion.
