UAlberta Congrats

This week, the University of Alberta is celebrating the J. Gordin Kaplan Award recipients, new accreditation for the Faculty of Arts, and… the world’s smallest Oilers’ logo? Well, alright — like goaltender interference, we’ll allow it. Congrats to the following:

• Stan Boutin, Professor, Department of Biological Sciences, Faculty of Science — received the J. Gordin Kaplan Award for Excellence in Research (Sciences/Engineering), the most prestigious University of Alberta research award

• John Considine, Professor, Department of English and Film Studies, Faculty of Arts — received the J. Gordin Kaplan Award for Excellence in Research (Humanities/Social Sciences/Law/ Education/Fine Arts), the most prestigious University of Alberta research award

• Faculty of Arts — received new, national-level accreditation with the Canadian Association for Co-operative Education (CAFCE) for its Arts Work Experience Co-op Program

• nanoFAB Centre — created the smallest-ever NHL logo — an Oilers logo so tiny, you could fit 900 million of them on top of a puck
