UAlberta Congrats

This week, the University of Alberta is celebrating several teaching excellence awards, a Killam award, a Chaudhuri Prize, and more! So, congrats to the following:

• Sarah Carter, Professor & Tory Chair, Department of History and Classics, Faculty of Arts - awarded the 2017 Chaudhuri Prize for her book: Imperial Plots: Women, Land, and the Spadework of British Colonialism on the Canadian Prairies Imperial Plots: Women, Land, and the Spadework of British Colonialism on the Canadian Prairies

• Ryan Clements, Sessional Instructor, Faculty of Law - received the 2017 Pringle/Royal Sessional Teaching Excellence Award

• Lauren Degenstein, Student, Department of Human Ecology, Faculty of Agricultural, Life & Environmental Sciences - received a Telio Scholarship for her award-winning clothing design

• Laurie Eisler, Head Coach, Pandas Volleyball - inducted into the 2017 class of the City of Edmonton's Hall of Fame

• Gary Faulkner, Professor Emeritus, Department of Mechanical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering - received the APEGA Centennial Leadership Award

• Cressida Heyes, Professor, Canada Research Chair, and Associate Chair of Graduate Studies, Department of Political Science, Faculty of Arts - received the Killam Award for Excellence in Mentoring

• Erin McCabe, PhD Student, Faculty of Rehabilitation Medicine - received a fellowship award from the Canadian Hemophilia Society, as well as the Caregiver Award from the Bayer Hemophilia Awards Program

• Devidas Menon, Professor and Senior Advisor, Health Technology Policy Unit, School of Public Health - awarded the Dr. Jill M. Sanders Award of Excellence in Health Technology Assessment from the Canadian Agency for Drugs and Technologies in Health

• Roderick Wood, Professor and FR Matthews QC Professor of Business Law, Faculty of Law - received the 2017 Hon. Tevie H. Miller Teaching Excellence Award

Lastly, congratulations to all of the award recipients at the Faculty of Engineering's annual Engineering Teaching Awards!
