For the University of Alberta, the next round of negotiations between the university and AASUA (Association of Academic Staff University of Alberta), scheduled to begin in Spring 2018, will occur within a labour context that is different than in previous years.

The university has retained Geoff Tierney, an experienced academic labour negotiator, as the lead negotiator of the university's bargaining committee.

The other members of the university's bargaining committee are:

  • Kathleen DeLong, Interim Vice-Provost and Chief Librarian
  • Joseph Doucet, Dean, Alberta School of Business
  • Donna Herman, Special Advisor, Faculty and Staff Relations
  • Michelle Strong, Director & Acting Vice-Provost, Faculty and Staff Relations
