UAlberta Congrats

This week, the University of Alberta is celebrating major research discoveries and accomplishments, the School of Dentistry's centenary, and more! So, congrats to the following:

• Lindsay LeBlanc, Assistant Professor and Canada Research Chair in Ultracold Gases for Quantum Simulation, Department of Physics, Faculty of Science - led the successful creation of a Bose-Einstein condensate, a dilute gas cooled to temperatures close to absolute zero, three years in the making

• Alex Poznikoff, Pandas Hockey - named both Ualberta Athlete of the Week and U SPORTS Athlete of the Week

• Parsin Haji Reza, Postdoctoral Fellow, Departments of Biomedical Engineering and Electrical & Computer Engineering, Faculty of Engineering - part of a team that devised new non-contact medical imaging technology with several clinical applications, including early cancer detection

• Roger Zemp, Associate Professor, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Faculty of Engineering - part of a team that devised new non-contact medical imaging technology with several clinical applications, including early cancer detection

• Assistant Professor Kim Adams and the Faculty of Rehabilitation Medicine's First Lego League team - won the "Judges Award" at the Alberta Provincial First Lego League Tournament this past weekend

• School of Dentistry - celebrates 100 years in 2017 - happy centenary!

• Engineering Students' Society (ESS) - raised $4,000 in donations for the Stollery Children's Hospital through GEER Week

• Faculty of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences Class of 2020 - received their white coats and were officially welcomed into the pharmacy profession at the faculty's annual White Coat Ceremony
