Have you met Jennifer, Undergraduate Program Administrator in the Department of Secondary Education? Spend a few minutes getting to know her a little better.

What is your first U of A memory?

Wondering how I would ever figure out the lay of campus and how to get from one class to another, and in 10 minutes!

What’s something your coworkers don’t know about you?

I’m a mixed martial arts (MMA) fan, and wish that Khabib Nurmagomedov and Georges St-Pierre were still active fighters.

What’s your favourite distraction?

A good eBook and a glass of wine.

If you were enrolling in one course, program or degree right now, what would it be?

PSYCO 478: Behaviour and Brain Chemistry. This course was not scheduled during the last years of my BSc degree, but it was always one that I was interested in.

What’s a weird pet peeve you have?

According to my colleagues, it seems that I’m a stickler for people reading emails and following through, but we’re all on the same page with this right???

You can invite anyone — alive or dead, real or fictional — to dinner. Who would it be?

John E. Douglas. He founded the FBI’s Investigative Support Unit, and is the inspiration for the character Special Agent Holden Ford in the Netflix series Mindhunter. I have read his books Anatomy of Motive and Mindhunter: Inside the FBI’s Elite Serial Crime Unit numerous times.

If you could see any live performance tomorrow, what would it be?

A dance party with the beats provided by the incredible DJ Mike Tomas is totally in order right now.

What advice would you give your 18-year-old self?

Don’t expect life to progress in a linear fashion. It’s the detours and side trips that will be the most fulfilling and give you those “remember when…” memories.

What’s one thing you can’t live without?

My blender. I use it almost every day.

What three words describe your U of A experience?

Community, fulfillment, and energy.
