Despite the name, plasma cars have very little to do with plasma — but they do rely on some heart pumping action, especially when one is racing in a Plasma Car Rally.

You can test your driving skills all while supporting an uplifting cause at annual Plasma Car Rally in support of the U of A’s United Way fundraising campaign.

When: Friday, October 27, 2017

Check-in Time for Racers: 11:30 a.m.

Race Times: Noon — 1:00 p.m.

Location: Social Street, PAW

(i.e. the hallway between the Sports Hall of Fame and the Chopped Leaf)

All levels of drivers are welcome to take part in this fun-filled lunch hour of racing and cheering — with just enough healthy competition against fellow students and colleagues to raise the excitement bar. To bring some seasonal spirit to this event, the Plasma Car Rally is held right before Halloween so drivers can don costumes, decorate their plasma cars, and enjoy Halloween sweet treats all while raising funds for the United Way.

All funds raised by drivers and supporters, including a 50/50 Raffle held at the venue, go directly to the U of A United Way Campaign where they shall be used to fund the local programs that work to improve the quality of life for those in need.

This year’ s races will welcome the Senate’s U School and other community guests. So whether you want to race or are just looking to cheer from the sidelines, stop by and join in!
