When spring arrives, we can look forward to the appearance of green grass, lush leaves, the occasional goose, and two of the most vibrant symbols of the university's relationship with First Nations Peoples: the tipi in front of Pembina Hall and the tipi on Augustana Campus.

On May 26 and again on May 28, the university community gathered to watch and participate in this year's raisings - all under the guidance the Augustana Knowledge Keeper, Bruce Cutknife, (Augustana Campus) and Elder Ricky Cardinal and Joe Cardinal from the Alexis Nakota Sioux Nation (North Campus).
