I am pleased to announce the reappointment of Dr. Joseph Doucet as Dean of the Alberta School of Business, approved on Friday by the Board of Governors upon the recommendation of the Dean Review Committee. Joseph’s second five-year appointment will start effective July 1, 2018.
My thanks to the members of the Dean Review Committee for their commitment and hard work, and to all of those who took the time to participate in the review process.
Joseph has been an articulate and respected voice for the Alberta School of Business and the University of Alberta and has built critical relationships, within the university and externally, that will continue to grow our reputation. He has provided excellent leadership in a number of areas, including supporting the School of Business’ research culture and mission. He has built a very strong leadership team within the school and continues to strengthen programs and the learning environment, which includes the undergraduate leadership certificate, eHUB, and revenue generating programs.
Joseph is committed to increasing the School of Business’ relevance and impact, including further developing fundraising and revenue generation in pursuit of its vision and mission.
The University of Alberta is fortunate to have a dean of such high calibre. We wish Dean Doucet continued success in his next five years.
