The Internal Communications team serve as the editors, moderators, and primary contributors for The Quad, however all members of the U of A community are invited to contribute their ideas and posts for the blog.

Internal Communications Specialist, Office of the VP (University Relations)

Matt holds a joint position at the U of A, working in both University Relations and the Office of the President. He is the editor of The Quad, and also provides communications support to various units across the university. Matt graduated from the Faculty of Arts with a BA in English, and is an alumnus of Golden Bears Volleyball. Before he returned to his alma mater, he worked at the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology (NAIT) and the Seniors Association of Greater Edmonton (Sage).

Breanna holds a joint position at the U of A, working in both University Relations and the Office of the President. She is the Editor of YouAlberta and a contributing writer for The Quad. Breanna has a MA in English from the University of Alberta and a BA in English from the University of Calgary. She was a research assistant for the book Cultural Mapping and the Digital Sphere from UAlberta PressCultural Mapping and the Digital Sphere from UAlberta Press and contributed a chapter to Cultural Politics in Harry PotterCultural Politics in Harry Potter (Routledge 2019). Breanna has been the assistant editor of Glass BuffaloGlass Buffalo, a literary magazine for emerging writers from the University of Alberta, since 2014, and received the 2019 Volunteer of the Year Award from the Alberta Magazine Publishers Association in recognition of this work.

Executive Director, Strategic Communications, Office of the VP (University Relations)

An award-winning communicator with more than 15 years experience in all realms of communications, Jennifer Pascoe is the Executive Director of Strategic Communications in the Office of the VP (University Relations). A proud UAlberta alum who earned her BA (Hons. Art History) in the early aughts, Jennifer is also a recent graduate of the Master of Arts in Communications and Technology program. Her graduate research explored why — and how — scientists use social media to communicate, focusing on knowledge translation, which informs her daily professional practice and strategy.
